After his win Sunday, Rich Hendrick will never get this driver's name wrong again

It's hard to believe -- actually, more like funny -- that the boss didn't know his new employee's name.

But after Alex Bowman won the pole for the Daytona 500 in qualifying, it's safe to say Rick Hendrick won't get it wrong again

ESPN's Bob Pockrass relayed this funny story from Daytona. Rick Hendrick just said that when Dale Jr. suggested Alex Bowman would be his substitute in 2016, he called him Alex Baldwin for a few days.

Alex Baldwin is the movie star who has made a second career out of playing President Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. Couldn't be further away from Alex Bowman.

Alex Bowman put on a show for his first drive in the 88 car taking over for Dale Earnhardt Jr. after not even qualifying for the race in his last attempt. Winning the pole in the 88 has to have Junior nation buzzing about the chances of the car their favorite driver left behind.

Seeing a Chevy qualify over a Toyota is also a good sign for those fans who were worried about Toyota's dominance continuing from last year.

The remaining qualifying spots will be determined Thursday at the Can-am duels, and the Daytona 500 is only one week away.
