The Police's newest pursuit rated vehicle leaves you nowhere to run

Pickup trucks have been part of police department fleets for quite a while now, but none have been built to the standards needed to be considered a pursuit vehicle. They need to be able to achieve high speeds and not break down meaning better brakes and cooling are a must.

With today's technology making a high speed-worthy pickup was no large feat as all Ford had to do was hand over an F-150 with their 3.5 litre Ecoboost V6 packing 375 horsepower and 470 lb ft of torque. This powerful engine is mated to their 10-speed automatic and part-time four-wheel-drive system.

All new Police Responder F-150s come with the heavy duty FX4 off-road package that gives you skid plates, off-road shocks and a locking rear differential. The brakes have been upgraded specifically for police use along with a stiffer front sway bar. To run all the added electronics, a 240 amp alternator is installed and the floor shifter is replaced with a column shifter to leave plenty of room for police essentials in the center console.

It's worth noting the top speed is actually less than the civilian F-150 at only 100 mph. Most police are required to stop pursuit well before those speeds, but it's odd that an emergency vehicle has a limit in the first place. It's likely officers will be fighting over these; they look amazing.
