Seemingly Tame Audi Ad Was Banned For Encouraging Speed Demons

“The Eye” was an advertisement for the Audi R8 which did nothing but focus on the human eye as it dilated and tunnel lights whipped over its iris. The ad’s intention was highlight the eye’s natural responses to excitement, and the thrill of driving, but censors insisted in encouraged reckless speeding, rather than highlighting the cars features such as its brakes and such, as the manufacturer declared it intended to do.
