Super heating a big chef’s knife with a couple of blowtorches then slicing into various car tires sounds like mad science. That may be, but mad science is usually the most fun. On their own, kitchen knives can certainly puncture a car tire with enough force behind them, but heated to nearly 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, the knives melt through the steel threads woven into the tire rubber like they were table butter. Even thick Run-Flat racing tires are no match for nearly molten steel.
