PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — A man was arrested at gunpoint after leading police on a wild chase in a work truck that ended with a violent crash at an intersection in Pasadena.

The truck smashed into the driver’s side of an SUV and both vehicles spun out Thursday evening.

The driver of the truck immediately surrendered to officers. The SUV’s driver had to be extracted and was hospitalized in unknown condition.

The man sped across several Los Angeles-area cities — blowing through intersections, sideswiping some cars and narrowly missing others.

At one point he crashed through the security gate at a railroad crossing. A commuter train passed by seconds later.
