In Texas, Two Freight Trains Collide Head On

Today, Panhandle, TX is the site of a grisly and destructive head on collision between two freight trains. Following the initial crash and the resulting fireball, rescue crews went to work putting out the fires caused by the two engines. Other first responders have reported three people missing, and one man who was seriously injured trying to jump free of the track. All were railroad employees. Residents of the town are being asked to evacuate the east side of town and refrain from unnecessary water usage while crews attempt to contain the fires. The National Transportation Safety Board has opened an official investigation into the cause of the accident.
