RICHMOND, Va. -- The changes continue at Niece Motorsports. The Craftsman Truck Series team has now welcomed two new majority owners.
Niece Motorsports announced the news at Richmond Raceway on Friday, ahead of practice and qualifying. DQS Solutions & Staffing CEO Josh Morris and J.F. Electric CEO Greg Fowler have joined forces to become the majority owners.
However, the team will still continue to operate as Niece Motorsports moving forward for the rest of the season and into 2026.
According to the team, founder Al Niece will remain involved but will step back from the day-to-day operations. Cody Efaw will take on the role of President and CEO while Amanda Efaw will become Chief Marketing Officer.
Phil Gould, the team's winningest crew chief, will become the Director of Competition.
"This partnership is a continuation of the momentum we've built over the last several seasons," said Niece said in a press release. "I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished.
"This change allows me to return to the heart of why I got into racing - the passion and excitement of competition - while entrusting the business to partners who believe in our team and our people."
The new majority owners obviously change the power dynamic in the building, but their investment also goes to expanding specific parts of the business.
According to Niece Motorsports, this includes marketing, PR, and hospitality offerings. The investment by Morris and Fowler will also support building out full-service video production and pit crew training capabilities.
Will this affect the team's number of entries for the 2026 season? That question will remain throughout the rest of the season until Niece Motorsports unveils its lineup of drivers.
Efaw provided some details about the plans during the Friday afternoon press conference. He noted that he would like to field three full-time entries next season, but he did not rule out bringing a fourth to the track each weekend. However, Niece Motorsports does not appear to have interest in fielding five trucks as it did in past seasons.
