NASCAR has issued a penalty to Carson Hocevar after he spun Harrison Burton under caution at Nashville Superspeedway.
According to the NASCAR Penalty Report, Hocevar violated Sections 4.4B of the Rule Book. This covers the member code of conduct. As a result, Hocevar has received a $50,000 fine. He has also lost 25 driver points, dropping him from 22nd in the Cup standings to 24th.

The incident occurred after Brad Keselowski crashed in the final stage of the Ally 400. The cameras showed Hocevar spinning Burton on the back straightaway under caution.
Additional angles showed Hocevar steer to the right before turning left and right-hooking Burton toward the outside wall.
"Why the (expletive) would he check up?" Hocevar asked over the radio after spinning Burton.
His team responded by saying, "Just get caught up. Stay off the radio."
NASCAR did not penalize Hocevar at the time of the incident. Instead, NASCAR Cup Series Managing Director Brad Moran later said that the sanctioning body would dive into the incident before deciding whether to issue a penalty.
"We've obviously got that on our list today," Moran said Tuesday during an appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. "Tuesday, we go through all of that information, we'll be pulling all the audio and all the video, all the SMT data, just to confirm everything that we witnessed, and we'll make a determination on a penalty.
"And if that happens, that will be later today or tomorrow. That's one of our projects this morning."
The incident between Hocevar and Burton was not the only one that drew a penalty at Nashville Superspeedway. NASCAR held Layne Riggs for two laps for "reckless driving" after he spun Stefan Parsons during Friday night's Truck Series race.
Moran addressed this penalty during his Tuesday appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. He said that Seth Kramlich, Truck Series managing director, had talked to the entire Truck field multiple times in an attempt to clean up the racing after last season's championship race. This particular event featured 10 cautions for multi-vehicle incidents, including one where Hocevar spun Corey Heim into Stewart Friesen.
