Swedish inventor Mikael Kjellman was looking for a technological solution to biking in the dreary and bone-chilling winters of the Scandinavian Peninsula when he came up with a rather strange idea: why not make his bicycle more like a small car? The unusual looking “PodRide” features a recumbent seating profile, four wheels, a 250 kW motor with a sixty mile range, headlights, a portable heater, trunk space, multiple air intakes for warmer weather, and even a windshield wiper. He says he’s still prototyping this model, but Kjellman has been driving his invention to and from work for a over a year now and he couldn’t love it more.
