Self-driving cars are the popular technology of the moment and every company seems to be taking their stab at getting theirs to market. NVIDIA, noted computer graphics card and games manufacturer has been quietly testing their self-driving car, dubbed, “BB-8” after the Star Wars droid and they claim to have taught it how to drive like a person, then allowed it to develop its own patterns naturally. Their results are hard to argue with when you see the hands of the driver sticking out of the window, but conventional wisdom seemed to point toward using sensors and wireless communications to better the autonomous driving experience and get away from the perils of human error. Maybe NVIDIA is on to something?
