Lindisfarne Castle rests on a tidal island, called Holy Island, in northern England is only accessible by boat during high tide. When the tides are low, a single causeway serves as the only roadway that allows access to the island. Unfortunately for this Uber driver, he misjudged how low the tides were as he ferried people back and forth from the island, and his return trip almost ended in disaster. The tides rose rapidly as he drove out on the disappearing roadway, and before long, he was nearly submerged. He did manage to cross to an exposed stretch of the roadway, but his passenger was understandably livid about the hair-brained ordeal, and the two were forced to wait for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution to swing by and pick them up.
