In a non-descript warehouse garage on the California grounds of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory sits the most expensive vehicle ever built, and it’s not even a car. A carbon copy of NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover used for testing commands and planning missions and excursions with the real Curiosity more than 249 million miles away on the surface of the Red Planet cost a mere $2.5 billion dollars to build and this is the only other one in existence. The rover features some of the most advanced technologies ever created and lives on a testing ground affectionately called “the Mars Yard.”
