Racer Ben Waddell was making good lap times around the track until he suddenly smelled fuel leaking into his car. He quickly pulled it onto the infield and shut the car off, then flung open the emergency release on his window, just before the car exploded into a massive fireball. He wasn’t far enough away from the car not to be minorly burned by the ensuing flames, but thanks to his flame retardant suit and his quick thinking, his injuries weren’t any worse.
