Kesla’s EcoLog 590D eats trees for breakfast. And after you see it in action, you’ll know why that’s almost a literal statement. It’s massive hydraulic claws clamp down on the base of the tree while a saw mounted to the rear of the grabber cuts through the tree right at the stump. After the tree is free from the stump, the EcoLog’s operator turns the tree to its side, then uses the claw’s huge rollers to pull the tree against the branch-removing blades before the saw lops off another section. It’s utterly fascinating to watch this hefty machinery in action.
