At this year’s Gold Coast 600 Supercar race, Aussie driver Scott McLaughlin looked as though he might eat the wall after trying to juke his opponent, Mark Winterbottom. Even with his wheels and brakes locking up, and his nose pointing toward the wall, McLaughlin pulled off an inside pass in a maneuver his own co-driver, David Wall, said was “unbelieveable.” Even the competitor he passed had, Winterbottom, had to hand it to him, offering, “I was sixth-tenths a lap slower, so you get what you deserve, really.” What’s even better about the insane pass is that it put McLaughlin and Wall up on the podium at the end of the afternoon.
