While the new convertible top R8 Spyder has the previous R8’s V10 engine and not the R8 Plus’, its 538 horsepower will still push you back in the seat when you tap the throttle because no power has been sacrificed here. With a 0-60 time of just over 3 seconds and top speed of 196 miles per hour, speed is definitely still on the menu, boys. The really shining moment for the V10 Spyder is when you tap the “Performance Mode” button on the steering wheel, which opens up the manual shifting, stiffens the suspension and lets you really have fun with all of the R8’s raw power.
