It is, indeed, hard to stop a train. A fully loaded freight train can take up to a mile to stop from 55 miles per hour. There is no excuse for trying to beat a train.

This one however, makes even less sense. The train was barely moving and could be seen nearly 30 seconds before the impact. Also, the train was carrying no cars! The car had two very easy options: Drive at a normal speed and clear the train by an easy 15 seconds, or stop and wait for a single locomotive to pass which couldn’t have taken more than an extra half a minute out of his day. Instead, we get to vehicles inching towards each other in The Game of Chicken: Molasses Edition.


If only there was a way to avoid this wreck.
