The problem appears to be that the bottom portion of the truck is just close enough to eye level that it puts you, and anyone in your car really, at risk of becoming significantly more decapitated than you currently are.
Sure would be helpful if manufacturers started adding some stronger skirts to the trailers to stop you from kissing the walls with your whole face.
