The spiritual successor to the Shelby Cobra hails from Japan

Is there a modern equivalent of the Shelby Cobra? When Carroll Shelby dropped a V8 into an AC Ace a legend was born. The timeless recipe, big engine in a light car, has been updated by Flyin' Miata's new creation: An ND Miata with a 525 HP V8. Dropping giant engines into Mazda's featherweight roadster is nothing new, but the most impressive part of the latest conversion is that the Miata's strength, its balance, is unspoiled. The 6.2 liter V8 surprisingly only changes the balance one percent towards the front of the car, leaving it with only 53% of its weight on the nose.

Finally, the ND Miata has the power it always needed.
