Budget motor sports usually involve borrowed helmets at a local go-kart track or scouring Craigslist for a suitable junker to qualify for a Chumpcar or 24 Hours of LeMons race. But what if you wanted to drive a homemade race car  without breaking the bank? Brian Driggs of Petrolicious has the answer: Cyclekarts. A CycleKart is a mix between a go-kart and a vintage cycle car that must be hand built and follow certain guidelines to ensure fair competition. The Association of MotoCycleKartistes (AMCK), regulates the cars according to what they call the Stevenson Formula and requires the cars to be built, not bought, to help foster a community of builders that are less likely to smash up their babies on the track. The result is a friendly competition that doesn't take itself too seriously and is accessible to anyone who enjoys wrenching on their own car.
