In 1967, Carroll Shelby decided to cram a Ford GT40's 7.0 liter v-8 into a Ford Mustang. He called his creation the Shelby GT500 Super Snake. 50 years later, Shelby is doing it again. With 750 horsepower that achieves a claimed 11 second quarter mile, the 2017 Shelby Mustang Super Snake looks to dethrone Dodge's Hellcat Challenger/Charger as the king of the muscle cars, at least, until the Dodge Demon comes out.

Car and Driver reports that in addition to adding a supercharger to the Mustang GT's 5.0 liter v-8, the Super Snake package includes upgraded suspension, brakes, and cooling. Production will be limited to 500 and the total package starts at over $70k.
