Lawnmower racing has been around for decades, but today's racers are kicking things up a notch and taking the mowers to the marshes. Mower Mud Running is here and here to stay.

For the past few years, rednecks of all shapes and sizes have joined forces in the great outdoors to celebrate the great US of A in the best way possible. Take a look at the muddy mayhem in all its glory as mower racers try to plow their rigs through thick muck and mire!

If you're in the market for a riding lawn mower (one to actually use on your lawn, not one to tear up on a off-roading course) and don't mind spending a little bit of money, there are plenty of quality models available for purchase online.

The Craftsman T135 Gas Powered Riding Lawn Mower, for example, comes equipped with a 18.5-horsepower Briggs and Stratton gas engine, a 46-inch cutting deck with included deck wash, and CVT foot pedal transmission. This bad boy can even mow in reverse. It's perfect for any larger job you need done.

On the other hand, the Husqvarna YTH20K42 Lawn Tractor, while quite a bit pricier than the Craftsman, is stocked with a 20-horsepower Kohler 7000 Series V-Twin OHV Engine, a 42-Inch, two-blade mower deck, and pedal-operated hydrostatic transmission.

Now, if you're less interested in lawn care and plan on competing in a mower mud race in the near future, neither of the above models will really get the job done. Not without a good deal of customization, anyway. That'd definitely make for one hell of a project.
