One of CarMax’s claims to fame is their warranties. According to Doug DeMuro of Autotrader, they’re worth their weight in gold … at least when you’ve purchased an old Range Rover like this one. He says he paid $3,900 for a six-year(!) warranty, but CarMax covered car problems that far outstripped the cost.  In just the first two years, CarMax paid out $4.700 in claims, but now, only 11 thousand miles from the warranty expiring, they have paid out more than the thing is worth: $15,660… and counting.
