Everyone's favorite Wheeler Dealer called a "Traitor" by ex-costar

Back in March, the mechanic on the very popular show Wheeler Dealers, Edd China, quit.  The show has been on for 13 seasons and Edd didn't see eye to eye with the show's new production company.  It seems Velocity, who took over the production of the show, wanted to reduce the repairs Edd performed in the shop.  Edd stated in a video he released explaining the situation:

"In particular, the detailed and in depth coverage of my fixes in the workshop; what I consider to be the backbone and USP of the programme, are something Velocity feel should be reduced.

However, this new direction is not something I am comfortable with as I feel the corners I was being asked to cut compromised the quality of my work and would erode my integrity as well as that of the show, so I have come to the conclusion that my only option is to let Velocity get on with it, without me."

He goes on to say:

"Sometime you've got to break free from the confines of your rut and head for the far horizon."

Edd seems at peace with his decision, even though he admits he's leaving at the show's peak.  He mentions in his video that he will be focusing more time to his YouTube Channel at "Edd China."

Many fans are saddened to see him go, but his video explains the situation very well and is honestly very admirable. However, there is one person who is down right mad at Edd for leaving and that's Mike Brewer.  Mike has been with Edd on the show since the beginning and was the salesman so to speak. He took to twitter to voice his displeasure:

Jalopnik

A little harsh, don't ya think?  Mike has since calmed down and has a new mechanic for the show in Ant Anstead. Although the show will never be the same without good ol' Edd, we wish Mike and Ant the best and can't wait to see some more deals being wheeled.
