What goes down in the above video definitely isn't something you see every day. Or, really ever, for that matter. This is something that has maybe happened a handful of times in the course of automotive history. It's super rare, is what we're trying to say.

Back in March 2017, a car lost control in China and ended up on a roof. As it turns out, the driver hit the accelerator instead of the brakes, and took off. Literally. For a brief moment, that dude was flying through the air like he was behind the wheel of the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car.

Somehow, when everything was said and done, no one was injured in the accident.

The crash occurred in Taizhou city of east China's Jiangsu Province. The homeowner heard the crash, and looked up and saw the bottom of a CRV. There was nothing for the driver to do but sit there in embarrassment while someone went to get a ladder to free him. The car required a crane to be returned back to the ground.

"Speed was 70 kilometers per hour at that time (around 43 MPH)," the driver said, according to CCTV Video News Agency. "A tricycle appeared all of a sudden, and I turned north only to find that a car was coming in my direction. And I stepped on the accelerator accidentally and changed my direction."

In the end, the roof of the house was caved in, and the front of the CRV got dented. But, considering everything that happened here, it's a miracle that the aftermath didn't turn out to be way, way worse. Luckily, no one was working on the roof that day!
