A guard rail barely saved this rally driver from a huge fall

Rally racing is one of the most intense motorsports around. Blitzing down closed public roads, with all of their imperfections and quirks, in incredibly fast hatches takes guts. This crash shows just how perilous it can be. Driver Tomasz Kasperczyk overcooked this right hander and would have been sent off a cliff and into an "In memoriam" montage if it weren't for a guard rail that just barely held on.

The driver and his co-pilot were able to escape out of the right side of the car onto solid ground and sprinted away from the car holding up a sign proclaiming that he was somehow OK. Kasperczyk is surely thanking the driving gods and the local civil engineers for making that guard to rally-car-careening-out-of-control spec.
