Steve McQueen was quite possibly the coolest man to have ever lived, so it makes sense that his car would be equally as cool.

And now all of us un-cools have a chance to boost our social standing with the world champion of barn finds: McQueen's Porsche 917K. The price tag is only around $13 or $16 million of your dear, precious change. Who says you can't buy happiness?

Gooding & Company is offering chassis 917-024 up for auction after it spent almost 20 years in a barn. A Swiss group of specialists, Graber Sportgarage, took original pieces and patched the famous car back together for a full restoration.

McQueen's 917K looks familiar because of it's appearance in the 1971 movie, Le Mans. Equipped with its orange and blue Gulf livery and a flat-12 engine, the car is one of the most recognizable vehicles on the planet.

Hopefully this representation of success at Le Mans will find its way onto the track again.
