Call it an end to Tommy Baldwin Racing. After 8 seasons, NBC Sports is reporting that Premium Motorsports has purchased all assets from TBR.

Formed in 2009 by former Bill Davis Racing crew chief Tommy Baldwin, TBR struggled against the stronger and more well-funded teams. Baldwin announced after the 2016 season that TBR was selling its charter to Leavine Family Racing. This new announcement by Premium Motorsports closes the book.

PM owner Jay Robinson said in a release that his team purchased the entire NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series inventory, as well as all the trucks and equipment TBR had previously leased to Halmar Friesen Racing for their NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team.

The team really had little success during its tenure. In 2016, Regan Smith finished third at Pocono, and it was the best finish in team history.

Smith now drives part-time in the Camping World Truck Series and part-time in XFinity for Joe Gibbs Racing.
