Lewis Hamilton, arguably, has a much different perspective on the anthem protests that have been roiling the NFL and have now found its way into racing.

Hamilton, the first black driver in Formula 1 history and the three-time champ, issued two posts on Instagram that made the Englishman's point clear -- and shows solidarity with American athletes who have decided to take a knee.

First, it was this -- a picture of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King in a peaceful protest with the hashtag, #takeaknee

Then, he added a second post in which he asked people to "educate" themselves.

Today, NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Jr. came out with statement, just hours apart, supporting peaceful protests.
