A few weeks ago it was announced that Tony Gibson would no longer be crew chief of the No. 41 car for Stewart-Haas Racing.

While Gibson won't be the crew chief, he'll still be part of the team. His new duties will be overseeing all of the SHR teams in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series.

After 31 years on the road, it was time for Gibson to take a step back so he could enjoy more time with his family. In his new position in the SHR garage, he'll be able to do exactly that.

It will be interesting to see how Gibson handles his new position, after all it will be his first in more than 30 years that won't see him on the road most of the year.
