Martin Truex Jr. was dominant this season and the stats prove it

Racer.com compiled a quick statistical look back at 2017. It doesn't take long to notice Truex, Jr's name is at the top of almost every category. And in some cases, he's way ahead of the next closest driver.

Let's start with the easy ones. Truex, Jr. led the series season in wins with 8. Kyle Busch was next with 5. He also had the most top five and top ten finishes, 19 and 26 respectively.

But here are some other stats that paint a better picture of how good Martin Truex, Jr. was. In fastest laps run, Truex, Jr. had 1,338. Kyle Busch was next at 1,129. He was first in laps led with 2,253. Again, Busch was second with 2,023. Truex, Jr. was fastest on restarts with average rank of 5.6. Kyle Larson was second at 7.8.
