Robert Kubica is expected to be the second driver for Williams next season in Formula One, and he recently tested for two days at Abu Dhabi.

Kubica finished the second day in seventh position, and he was about two seconds behind Sebastian Vettel.

Williams tech chief Paddy Lowe is refusing to discuss Kubica’s speed, and he said lap times can be misleading.

“I’m not gonna talk about speed,” Lowe said via Motorsport. “It’s a complicated topic.

“I’m sure you want me to give some answers about that but it’s not something we are not going to discuss.

“It’s a really complicated topic, performance and speed, so to read a timesheet is quite misleading, so I’m not gonna talk about that. We haven’t even analyzed it for ourselves.”

Lowe praised Kubica’s driving ability, and he called him “very professional” and “very knowledgeable.”

He also said Williams isn’t in a rush to decide who will drive alongside Lance Stroll next season. Lowe said they’ll review several drivers, even some who didn’t test for them at Abu Dhabi.

Lowe and Williams will likely take their time in making the decision, and they have no need to rush and make a decision.

Kubica is still probably the favorite to land the position, but they will consider several candidates.
