A late crash between Paul Menard and Michael McDowell forced a late caution flag at the Pure Michigan 400. The combination of that crash and an oil spill forced the race to go into overtime.

Kyle Larson won the race in overtime after an incredible restart to pick up his third win of the season.

Menard finished 34th in the race, while McDowell finished 27th. Only three races remain in NASCAR's regular season before the playoffs begin.
