Take a seat, Martin Truex Jr.

The points leader in the Cup series playoff, and favorite to take the championship, had to give up 45 minutes of practice time today because his car failed the prerace tech at Dover and Charlotte.  A.J. Allmendinger also had a 45 minutes practice hold, Bob Pockrass of ESPN reported in a tweet.

Practice holds are always an issue because it takes away time for drivers to get used to the track.

Pockrass also ran down the rest of the practice holds.
