Forbes Magazine may be better known for finance than sports, but there’s no denying its a very prominent publication

And, just today, it examined Danica Patrick’s quest for a new sponsor and ride with this headline:

Can Danica Patrick, photogenic but mediocre, turn this corner?

Everyone who follows NASCAR knows that Patrick’s future with Stewart-Haas Racing is up in the air because she doesn’t have a sponsor for next year. Not only doesn’t she have a sponsor, but she doesn’t have results either. She routinely finishes in the back of the pack, and hasn’t won a Cup or Xfinity series race in her career (she’s won one IndyCar race).


Forbes, in its story, doubled down in its story, asking:

Who would want to hire or sponsor a female, historic and photogenic, if she has a mediocre track record?

The photogenic part comes from her rather risque poses with her former GoDaddy sponsor and the yoga and modeling photos she routinely post on her Instagram account.

While she might not have the results, there’s no doubt she’s had a groundbreaking career. She’s first woman to win an IndyCar series race; she the first woman to  lead in the Daytona 500, Coca Cola 600 and Daytona 500; and she’s the 2005 Rookie of the Year.
