Kyle Larson knows he gets under this driver's skin

Kyle Larson prides himself in racing hard. Getting bumped doesn't bother him, he said in an interview on NASCAR.com.

"A lot of drivers get upset about that stuff," he said. "I just view is as racing."

The driver of the No. 42 Chevrolet SS for Chip Ganassi Racing knows that his style might get under the skin of some of his competitors, and he realizes that it has in one case -- Jimmie Johnson.

"With Jimmie and I, it's been a lot of fun, to battle him. He's the best there is in NASCAR; he's accomplished a ton. I don't mean to get under his skin, but it seems like I have a few different times this year ..."

Or, it could be the other way around. The two have been going at each  other hard all year, and Johnson has been gracious.

"I just race people how they race me and it doesn't matter if it's Kyle Larson, Martin Truex, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart -- it doesn't matter," Johnson earlier this year Watkins Glen International. "There's that environment on the track. Through the course of the year, it's been intense with the 42 at times, so I've been able to race him back the same way."

Maybe there's a new rivalry brewing.
