Taylor posted a meme of the two, and it said "you vs. the guy she told you not to worry about." He also posted a caption congratulating van der Zande for joining Taylor's father and brother, Jordan.

"Well, I was hoping for someone a little slower and less good looking to replace me, but awesome choice to take @rengervdz to join @jordan10taylor! I know they will be tough to beat! Congrats Renger!

The 31-year-old van der Zande will join Jordan Taylor as drivers of the No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R.

Van der Zande said in a statement to AutoWeek that he's happy to join the team, and he called it a "mega opportunity."

"I feel very privileged to be in that position," he said. "Now, being contacted by Wayne and getting asked to drive for this championship-winning team, that's the crown for driving all sorts of cars all over the world for so many years.  Yes, there will be pressure on the track, and even more by replacing a family member. But pressure is always there -- it doesn't matter. I'm the type of driver who's willing to take the risks. Of course, you have to be smart and do it in a clever way, but I'm racing the way I'm racing and I think it'll fit very nicely."

Wayne Taylor said he's "thrilled" about van der Zande joining the team, and he believes he will fit in nicely with Wayne Taylor Racing.
