William Bryon faces quite a bit of pressure as he heads into his first Cup Series season.

He's taking over the No. 24 for Hendrick Motorsports, and doing this when he's not even old enough to drink in most states -- he just turned 20 in November.

But if anyone can be successful, it's Byron. So says his crew chief, Darian Grubb.

"I've been absolutely impressed," Grubb said on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. "He's one of the hardest working guys I've met so far, to be able to be at that age and have that kind of focus in what he's trying to do. He knows what his goals are and what he wants to accomplish.

"He's been a phenomenal talent on the racetrack and now from what I've seen behind the scenes here in the shop."

CONCORD, N.C. -- With preparations for the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season in full swing, No. 24 team crew chief Darian Grubb is excited by what he's seen.

William Byron is set to make his Cup Series debut fresh off a NASCAR XFINITY Series championship, and the driver is all-in on making sure his rookie campaign meets his high standards.

On Thursday, Byron tweeted that he "can't wait to get going!"

Neither can his crew chief.

"He's doing everything it's going to take to make sure he has that performance," Grubb said. "It's impressive and I'm really excited about getting him on the racetrack."
