NASCAR officials handed out three penalties following last weekend's Cup and Xfinity Series races at Richmond Raceway, and all three were for loose lug nuts.
Kurt Busch's crew chief, Tony Gibson, was fined $10,000 for a lug nut infraction. Busch finished fourth in the No. 41 Ford Fusion for Stewart-Haas Racing, which was his third consecutive top-5 finish.

Chris Gayle, who is the crew chief for Erik Jones, was also fined $10,000 for the lug nut violation. Jones finished sixth in the No. 77 car, but he didn't qualify for the playoffs in his rookie season.
In the Xfinity Series, crew chief Matthew Beckman was fined $5,000 for a lug nut infraction. Beckman is the crew chief of the No. 19 car for Joe Gibbs Racing, which was driven by Matt Tifft at Richmond.
None of the crew chiefs will face a suspension for the infractions, but the hefty fine is never a good start to the week.
