When Denny Hamlin decided to apologize on Twitter for wrecking Chase Elliott, there was one small thing in his apology that stood out: in the first sentence, Hamlin claimed he had raced in nearly 10,000 races since he was seven.
Fellow driver Landon Cassill was quick to point out that racing that many times would mean that Hamlin has averaged over 300 races per year since he was seven -- which, let's be honest, seems to be a stretch.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. enjoyed Cassill's dig at Hamlin, and he said Cassill might need his own podcast.
Landon, @DirtyMoRadio is ready for you to host your own podcast. https://t.co/02FlXFHfh0

And NASCAR Reddit decided to take a shot at Hamlin, too. They "calculated" how Hamlin arrived at nearly 10,000 races with this hilarious graphic. For example, he had 513 races after taking his girlfriend shopping, 107 Go-kart races, and 114 races "away from his girlfriend when the subject of marriage comes up."

The line about racing away from his girlfriend when the subject of marriage comes up was just cold, and the Mario Kart line was hysterical. Hamlin probably would've thrown the blue spiny shell at Elliott had they been playing Mario Kart.
Hamlin invited the jokes by stating he had participated in that many races, and he will probably continue to get roasted by fans and his competition.
