Daniel Hemric doesn't have any wins this season in the NASCR Xfinity Series, but the rookie driver still managed to make his way into the Championship 4 for the series.

Hemric will compete with William Bryon, Elliott Sadler and Justin Allgaier for the title at Homestead, and the 26-year-old could be the key to the future of Richard Childress Racing.

RCR hasn't had much success lately, but Hemric has been a bright spot for the team despite being winless on the year. He said via Motorsport that he's proud of what his team has accomplished throughout the year despite some struggles along the way.

"It's been a while since Richard Childress Racing has been able to run for a championship," Hemric said. "I'm proud to be able to do it for them this year. I've had really good race cars the last couple of weeks, glad we were able to put it together (to reach the Championship 4)."

Sunday would certainly be the ideal time for Hemric to win his first career race, and a win would be a monumental occasion for both him and Richard Childress Racing.

"We need to make sure we get to experience more moments like this," Hemric said. "Everybody knows the history of RCR and, honestly, we haven't had that many high spots of late. Hopefully, we've saved our best for last."

If Hemric won the title without winning a race this season, he wouldn't be the first Richard Childress Racing driver to do so. Austin Dillon accomplished the feat in 2013 with the team, which was the last time the team has won a championship.

Byron and Sadler have been the top two drivers in the Xfinity Series all year, and they're the favorites to win this weekend. But anything can happen in one race, and Hemric has a shot to secure a very important championship for Richard Childress Racing.
