The paint scheme for his final ride is a throwback to his first paint scheme as a Cup Series driver.

"So this paint scheme is the paint scheme that I ran when I first came in the Cup," Earnhardt said. "It's funny because I've been sitting there all year long reading on social media about fans saying, 'This is what you need to run. This is the car.'

"I think it's awesome. It's going to be a lot of fun wearing the uniform and the colors and the team and just sort of putting the finishing touches on a career with the colors and everything that started it."

Earnhardt said he'll definitely be emotional throughout the weekend and on race day, and he said he really just doesn't want to have a bad race.

Diehard Earnhardt fans will appreciate the paint scheme, and regardless of how he finishes it will be an emotional and memorable day for him and his fans.
