Watch how Dale Earnhardt Jr. barely avoided each major wreck at Talladega

Dale Earnhardt Jr. didn't win at Talladega, but he gave himself a chance by avoiding the major wrecks that occurred throughout the race.

Earnhardt admitted he probably got a little lucky, but only a handful of drivers even finished the race, so his ability to steer clear of the major wrecks was impressive.

At one point, Earnhardt even said, "Ole 'Dega is giving me one last thrill. This stuff here will make you age fast."

Earnhardt said he didn't do all the things he needed to do to win, but he was pleased overall with his performance.

The fact that he finished and gave his fans a good show and performance was important for NASCAR, and Earnhardt avoiding crashes and concussions was important for his health.
