This past Friday, The NBA's Charlotte Hornets announced they'd be open to trading one of their best players and a group of fans wasn't happy to say the least.
In addition to being the home of the Hornets, Charlotte is also the home to NASCAR so many of the drivers are fans of the team.

When the Hornets released information stating that they'd be willing to trade All-Star guard Kemba Walker, a few NASCAR drivers expressed their disconcert.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared his feelings on the matter via Twitter.
Trading @KembaWalker would be a huge mistake. Quality player, teammate, and person in this community. @hornets need to convey loyalty to their star player. https://t.co/7ZMtYUMkEq

Jeff Burton also expressed his feelings, and he went back and forth with Dale Jr.
Kemba is the star on this team and city loves him. Unfortunately this team may have to start over AGAIN in order to be a contender. https://t.co/WhuWIfXNq8

Trading him sends a terrible message to teammates, future free agents, fans.

The rumors alone have done terrible harm.

Concerned that the team can?t rebuild and keep him due to other contracts on the roster Can the team leaders find a way? I damn well hope so https://t.co/ouCsgvY7tE

Burton also continued to share his feelings as he discussed the trade rumors with others.
Fans don't want a rebuild. This franchise has been rebuilding since it arrived. The couple years it wasn't were disasters (Lance/trading Gerald Wallace)

Damn right! Fans deserve a contender. https://t.co/P6htToT3qm

Ty Dillon even got in on things replying to an earlier tweet from Dale Jr.
Totally agree would really break down some of the fan base that has been building stronger and stronger the last 5 years. Move the guys underperforming it?s obvious the changes that need to be made! https://t.co/CRPk4BMGdM
