As Americans, most of us recognize that familiar shape of the headlights and grille of a Ford Crown Victoria as the symbol of police vehicles. For a great deal of our lives, the Crown Vic has been the standard cruiser for police departments and government organizations across the country. When they are removed from service and auctioned off to the public, some of the stigma of that familiar automotive silhouette remains, even in the hands of a civilian. One man who has owned a police Crown Vic shares his story of what it’s like to roll out in a police car every day.
