The city of Fukuoka, Japan suffered a serious catastrophe when a 30 meter wide sinkhole suddenly opened up near a subway station early last week. Officials were initially baffled on how to go about repairing the disastrous hole, but in less than three days, they seem to have things quite figured out. Working non-stop through the night with the aid of construction light arrays and swapping out crews in the mornings, they were able to fill in the hole and get traffic moving again just in time for evening rush hour.
