Nine years ago, the automotive review world recognized that Toyota’s Hilux pickup truck was in serious danger of almost flipping over during the 30-40 mile per hour swerve test known as “the moose test”, meant to simulate an obstruction in the roadway which requires decisive maneuvering to avoid at a normal speed. Fast forward to today, and the Hilux is still exhibiting the same issue, one which doesn’t really show up in competitors’ pickups, even at higher rates of speed. Swedish auto testers, “The Art World” put out this short video about the problem to try and raise more awareness about this dangerous problem with these very popular trucks.
