This travel shed can hit speeds of 100 miles per hour

When was the last time you looked at your garden shelter and said, "I'd like that to be a bit quicker"? Last night, right? We've all wanted something that was capable of holding our yard equipment and breaking some form of land speed record, but it seems that Kevin Nicks is the only one actually living that dream, with his Volkswagen Passat 2.8-liter V6 tool shed.

Appropriately dubbed the Fastest Shed, it can top 100 mph, maybe more with a tailwind, and is as aerodynamic as, well, a garden shed.

Nicks started his project by stripping down the original Volkswagen to its floor pan, then building a wooden body directly on top of it. While it's undoubtedly not what Volkswagen intended for its car, they'd undoubtedly be happy with the tasteful use of ship-lap to outline boxy van.

Nicks recently installed a nitrous oxide system into the shed to give it a bit of a bump and will be testing it at Elvington airfield in North Yorkshire.
