The Leh–Manali Highway is a mountain road in Northern India and easily one of the most dangerous roadways in the entire world. The average elevation of the road is about 4,000 meters or 13,000 feet which you may recognize as a common elevation for freaking airplanes. With sections of the notorious road literally carved into the sides of mountains, you have to take the whole winding highway very slowly and very carefully, especially after a hard rain when areas nestled in the cliffs are prone to freak landslides.
