Parents and their teenagers usually disagree on a lot of things. A suitable first car is no exception. As a parent you want something safe, fuel efficient, and cheap. Junior, on the other hand wants something fast, fast and fast.

Whether you're a gear head parent or the type that doesn't know where your oil goes, you've likely heard of the more common fast cars to stay away from.  Probably not a good idea to allow your child to drive cars like the Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, Supra, most Mustangs and typically any sporty rear wheel drive car with a V-8.
The landscape has changed vastly over the last 15 years or so and there are more and more "sleepers" out there just waiting to be bought by an unsuspecting parent looking for a good first car.  If you weren't born with a wrench in one hand and a spark plug in the other, you could be easily fooled by your mini me that these are great first time cars.
In this Video, Alex Palmeri from LegitStreetCars gives you the upper hand with " 5 cars teenagers shouldn't drive."
